Terms & Conditions

LankaRentalCar.com provides self-drive and chauffeur-driven car rental services across Sri Lanka. By renting a vehicle from us, you agree to the terms and conditions listed below.

1. General

For all rental transactions and related payments, LankaRentalCar.com (hereinafter referred to as the Company) and the person or organization hiring the vehicle (hereinafter referred to as the Hirer) are bound by this agreement.

2. Rental Charges

• All rental rates include government taxes unless otherwise stated.

• Fuel for the rented vehicle is at the hirer’s own cost.

• Rental charges must be paid in full before the commencement of the hire period unless special arrangements are made.

3. Driver Responsibility

• The vehicle must only be driven by the hirer or by an authorized driver who holds a valid driving licence.

• Details of any additional driver must be provided to the Company prior to using the vehicle.

4. Vehicle Condition & Damages

• The hirer is responsible for any damage to the vehicle during the hire period, up to a maximum of USD 300.00, plus towing charges if applicable.

• Any damage not covered by insurance must be paid by the hirer.

• The Company will provide a replacement vehicle whenever possible in case of breakdowns or accidents.

5. Insurance & Repairs

• The hirer must assist in completing all documentation required for insurance claims.

• Damage to mechanical components (engine, gearbox, drivetrain, etc.) caused by negligence, such as driving without proper oil or coolant, must be paid for by the hirer.

• Minor repairs (punctures, bulbs, wipers, etc.) will be reimbursed upon presentation of valid receipts.

6. Vehicle Cleanliness

• Vehicles are handed over cleaned and washed.

• The hirer must return the vehicle in the same condition or a USD 5.00 cleaning charge will apply.

7. Delivery, Pick-Up & Extensions

• Vehicle delivery and collection can be arranged upon request.

• For airport pick-up or drop-off, a USD 50.00 fee applies each way.

• Any request to extend the rental period must be made at least 48 hours before the current rental expires.

8. Usage & Restrictions

• Vehicles must not be transferred or sub-leased to any third party.

• Vehicles must not be used for illegal, immoral, or off-road activities.

• All rentals are subject to the laws and regulations of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
